Health Benefits Of OKRA

OKRA:

         Okra or Okro is well known vegetable. In many English countries, it is also called as lady finger or ladies fingers. It is flowering plant. It has edible green seed pods.  History of okra origin is disputed. Some countries   like West African, Ethiopian countries claim its origin. This plant is grown around the world in tropical, subtropical and regions having warm temperature.



CULTIVATION:

The okra is of perennial shape, often it is grown annually in temperate climates. It is generally 1.5 meters tall. Its flowers are white to yellow with five petals, often has red or purple spot at the base of each petal. The pods have numerous seeds .It is among those vegetable which are most heat and drought-tolerant vegetables.
