Health Benefits Of WATERMELON

 Watermelon:  

Watermelon is a sweet juicy fruit and is commonly used in summer.Watermelon is a plant and it is called a flowering plant. Its origin was Africa where it was domesticated.  This fruit is cultivated in all over the world at large scale, it has more than 1,000 varieties.  The seeds of wild watermelon have been found in pre-historic Libyan.

 


Cultivation:    

It is a summer season crop. This crop   is cultivation moderate temperature. Generally watermelon is cultivated in Pakistan in the months of April to June. Deep fertile soil with well drainage level is required for well growing of watermelon. Its production is beswhen it is cultivated on sandy or sandy loam soil.From late spring to early summer, plantation can be started, when soil temperatures gain 70 or above. Recommended space for watermelon plantation is 3 to 5 feet.

 

      In Pakistan, watermelon is cultivated in the interior areas of Punjab province as well in Sindh province .In watermelon production  ,Punjab share is 55.87% Balochistan  21.29%, Sindh 10.29% and   KPK is 11.84% .

   In addition to its nutritional value it is a delicious soup in the scorching summer days.Watermelon is useful for dehydration. It makes heart health better. It improves inflammation. It soothes stomach.

 

              

              Storage:

         We can store watermelon uncut for about 10 days to 14 days. We can increase storage time by keeping watermelon in very cool place. Cut watermelon can be kept in the refrigerator for about 4 days if it is wrapped   tightly in plastic sheet. If watermelon is stored in temperature below 10 C  for more than a few days, it will decay
